Blog 6!!


I picked the elementary school I went to when I was younger and found a list of class pages arranged by grade. They were not specifically made by the teacher, but more of a broad curriculum for the whole grade. The school is called Dr. Phillips Elementary in Orlando FL, and I looked at the tab under 4th grade.

I envision myself using technology to effectively teach students by making my lessons more hands on. Technology is a great way to get your students to be more hands on. Edmodo and other sites allow them to be hands on and collaborative. I also think it important to learn visually so I will guide the with projectors and smart boards up front so they can watch me do things. 
Unfortunately, last week I had to go to the doctor for a medical emergency and did not make it to class. Luckily, a few of my classmates posted pictures and their experience on twitter so I got to see what there was. I really liked the virtual mask that goes over your face and you can feel like your somewhere else. I would love to go one day in my free time and play with it.

An ELA technology standard I am most prepared to teach with is using different sources to cite work. I have experience, especially in high school, with using multiple sources to find information. I think this will be easy to teach students as well. I think the hardest standard to follow would be analyzing the structure the author uses to organize a text. Analyzing text structures is not my strong suit and I feel like I would need to take more  english classes to get better at it.  I think I would like to use Internet, email and Microsoft word mostly with my students. Blog post 1

  There are many things that influence the use of technology in the classroom by teachers and students. I think the main influence is collaboration with everyone involved in the learning facility including teachers, parents and students. Technology allows you to collaborate virtually and in-person to get a better understanding of the material and share your thoughts with your peers. The ISTE standards are standards that educators and students have to use to meet specific goals. One that caught my eye was the P12 standard. This helps children acquire knowledge for future success by integrating technology in the classroom. One that seems outside of my personal reach is the common core standard. I believe every student learns differently and reflects what they learn differently which is why this standard is hard for me to soak in.     The flipped classroom is where you combine traditional learning strategies with new ones such as new technology or online content. This could be using regular classroom technologies but then adding new ones on top of it so everyone can learn differently. You can make one part of your lesson online while one is traditional.  https://youtu.be/ojiebVw8O0g I acquired many new skills working with the power point projects. I learned how to use slide master which I did not know how to use before. I was ab;e to create a new layout and insert it into my own project. I also learned how to enter my voice into slides which I never knew how to do before. I am do glad I learned these new skills because I can use them when I am a teacher.
